Bittersweet

Went by the house wedneday morning and our white door was being painted a awesome red. They were hanging all the trim and more painting. I will get some pics tomorrow. I also got the close date of Oct 3. Which is pretty bittersweet, because Oct 4 will mark the one year anniversary of our 10 month old's funeral. Here is a picture of our little fatty Maddie...

Paint, Kitchen and a concern..

Was over checking out the house and they were getting ready to put the cabinets in. Paint was looking good. But I did notice a concern. While walking around the house I noticed the on basement window that sits almost under the fireplace still wasn't in. The basement is going to be finished and the dry wall is already up down there, so I emailed and sent a text to the construction manager. He didn't reply which kinda pi**es me off. Just concerned if we get a big thunderstorm, my basement gets ruined. So that was thur. I will be stopping by in the morning to see if it was addressed. If not I will have to get up in someones rear end sunday afternoon.

Also received my weekly update, this week begins painting, kitchen cabinets and flooring going in.

Here is pic of upstairs carpet, basement carpet, cabinets, countertops corian in kitchen the other in the bathroom will have to see if I have a pic of the wood for the floors.

Sorry been working myself to death. So I stopped by last Saturday and I noticed 4 trucks in front of the house so I went in. And was very surprised to see the whole house had dry wall hung. I checked every room and they were all done. The guys were finishing up and it was only about 1pm. Now the mudding and sanding wasn't done but it was all up.

I stopped by on tueday and got a better pic of the outside, since they removed the huge semi trailer dumpster out of the front yard. I will be stopping in the morning to see the inside progress. I can't wait to move.

I got an e-mail alert on wed. that the bank is doing my second credit check, if you have a VA loan you know what I mean. But that is a good thing, closer to closing.

And it begins

I am starting this late but, that's the story of my life. (Here is the short fast and get you up to date version) In April we went into a KHOV model home, and loved it. We set up a appointment, and so began this journey. At this appointment we found out there was one lot left on the street we wanted to live. So of course we bought it. Over the next two months we picked the house and the basic set up. The plans where drawn up and signed.
In June we went to the design center and chose our carpet, flooring, counters, cabinets, sinks, colors, we chose everything. It was very stressful and extremely fun. But you have to be careful if you are a normal guy with a normal budget, cause it is very easy to get carried away.

On June 20, the digging began....
So exciting when they actually start to move earth for your home. Footers in...Next the basement walls..
Just had the electrical walk through added 1055.00 of electrical. And the electrician was very nice and also lives in a KHOV home just down the street.

So far so good. I get a weekly update every Friday from the construction manager, which is really nice. And so far no complaints, more pics to come.
